Difference between protest, theft
This letter is addressed to whomever stole the U.S. flag from my flag pole.
Yes, I was flying the flag upside down — for a good reason. I feel that the recent election of a xenophobic, homophobic, racist who obviously wants to be a dictator, places my country in great danger. I will be buying a new flag, which I will also fly upside down to express my fear of what this madman in office could do to this country.
We could talk about this, so you don’t have to be a common thief to express your differences of opinion. Maybe I could only fly the flag right side up at half mast if that would make you feel better, but you have to tell me so, and not sneak in the night to steal my flag.
This is America, and we all are guaranteed the right by the Constitution to protest our government. Your stealing my flag is not protest, it is theft.
