Effective action now

Posted

Many persons deeply concerned by Trump’s anti-democratic initiatives are eager to oppose any erosion of basic American institutions and civil liberties. Happily, many are joining newly formed and existing groups in order to best address those deep concerns. We would like to offer a strong recommendation for one of the most effective actions anyone can take now.

We know of no organization that has over many years taken more direct and effective legal action, on national as well as local levels, than the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Within the first week of the new Trump administration, the ACLU has already filed two major lawsuits. Through one, a judge immediately put a hold on a Trump executive order that among other things places a 90-day ban on entry into the U.S. from citizens of seven countries. Another ACLU lawsuit challenges the continued entanglements and conflicts of interest of Trump’s global businesses. That lawsuit is based on the emoluments clause of the U.S. Constitution.

This is entirely typical of the highly skilled and fast-acting support and legal staff of the ACLU, and of the organization’s tireless dedication to upholding the rule of law, American civil liberties, and our Constitution.

We urge all who care about those core American values to join the ACLU, or to contribute more to the ACLU if you’re already a member. Their New Mexico website is aclu-nm.org. The ACLU has the clout and the funds to truly make a difference now.

The ACLU is one of the most deceitful anti-American hate groups that should be investigated, disbanded, and those guilty punished for treason.

Not long ago I offered to fill out a questionnaire from them. I received in the mail that questionnaire for my opinions. Each question was designed to illicit unrest, racial hatred, religious animosity where none exist.
