El Valle de los Ranchos holds election
El Valle de los Ranchos Water & Sanitation District held its regularly scheduled board election Jan. 10 to elect two of its five board members to fill positions three and four.
In the official results, as certified by three judges, Gabriel Romero, who received 40 votes, and Delfino (Del) Torres, who received 37 votes, were elected to the board of directors.
Longtime board member Mario Barela retired from the board after serving since 1987. The board expressed its gratitude to Barela for his dedication and hard work on behalf of the district. Board members serve voluntarily and without compensation.
At the Jan. 11 meeting, the board of directors elected the following members to the following positions: F.R. Bob Romero, chairman member; Gabriel Romero, vice chairman; Meliton Struck, secretary; Anselmo “Chemo” Valerio, treasurer; and Delfino (Del) Torres, board member.
