Questa schools remain closed due to water outage

Schools in Questa will remain closed through the end of the week because of an ongoing water outage, according to a press release from the school district.

Alta Vista Elementary, Alta Vista Intermediate, Questa Junior High and Questa High School will be closed Friday, Dec. 9.

According to the release, twelve-month employees are to report to work at 11 a.m. Rio Costilla Southwest Learning Academy will remain open. UNM-Taos Dual Credit Friday Program is scheduled as normal on Friday. Out-of-town athletic contests will also proceed as scheduled.

The Village of Questa has contracted to work with an individual who is very well educated with the water systems to determine the issue. The Village of Questa is currently giving out drinking water and non-potable water for households. We

ask that you limit the water intake per family to one case per 24

hour period of drinking water.
