Taos Milagro Rotary Club to issue six $1,000 community grants
The Taos Milagro Rotary Club “Community Grants Program” will make six $1,000 grants in mid-February.
Organizers said the grants are responsive to the needs of the local community.
“We seek to impact Taos County by increasing opportunities for people to overcome economic, educational and social barriers — and to create stronger pathways for people to access services and participate in their communities,” a news release said.
To submit an application for funding to the program, organizations should have a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status and serve the people of Taos County. The community grant program will consider funding grants to schools if projects fall outside their core responsibilities. For individuals or groups representing programs or projects that do not have a 501(c)(3) status, the applicant must have a sponsoring nonprofit and include a letter of sponsorship.
Organizers said the maximum amount for a funding request is $1,000. Grant applications must be submitted by Jan. 27. All grant applications will be reviewed through a formal evaluation process. Funding will be approved by the Taos Milagro Rotary Club board. All applicant organizations will be notified by email of funding decisions.
The program does not award grants for religious or political purposes, to individuals or to government agencies, other than to schools under the conditions previously stated. If you have received a Taos Rotary grant within the previous 24 months, you are ineligible to apply for the current grant cycle, organizers said.
The application and submission instructions can be found in the documents directory at taosrotary.org. For further information, contact Yale Jones at yijonessf@gmail.com.
