Taos named one of 30 ‘most romantic’ towns for the holidays
Now that Taos Plaza is full of holiday lights, a lit Christmas tree and stores have put out their best decorations, perhaps it's not a stretch to believe.
Taos has been named one of 30 “most romantic small towns” in the U.S. for the holidays.
“The artsy town of Taos — arguably a romantic place at just about any time of year — comes to life during the holidays with tree lightings, concerts and craft fairs,” said a citation from online site Top Value Reviews.
Top Value Reviews is a data-driven website that features product reviews and rankings.
“Every Christmas Eve, locals and visitors gather for a religious procession that takes place at the Taos Pueblo, the ancient Native American settlement situated just outside of town. Bonfires, luminarias and an historic gun salute are enjoyed by the crowd, who experience a unique Southwestern style of the Christmas spirit,” the citation read.
Taos was joined on the list of 30 by Aspen, Durango and Vail, Colorado; Jackson, Wyoming; and Ogden, Utah.
