Thank you, fire department

As I was driving past the fire department Jan. 18, a lot of smoke was rising out of my SUV’s hood. I pulled into the fire department’s parking lot, turned off the ignition and ran into the office to ask for help, as I suspected the SUV was on fire. 

The firefighters on duty immediately came out to assist. The firetruck was parked outside its garage, so they sprayed the engine compartment with water, eliminating the danger so a tow truck would be summoned to tow the SUV for repairs. Kudos to these firefighters, as they prevented a potentially dangerous situation.
