Time to abolish Electoral College

Very many Americans are wailing, "How could the country go for Trump?!" It didn't!

Hillary Clinton garnered almost 3 million more votes than Trump. But the Electoral College installed Trump anyway.

Of those nations that have elections, this is the only one that has such a system designed by the founders to thwart the hoi polloi (that's us.) The Electoral College can be abolished. It is cumbersome (why are we not surprised?) but it is possible, and does not require a constitutional amendment. Get on your computer, if you have one, and go to "Electoral college and abolition." You'll find plenty of information.

Yes, it's a long road, but New Mexico could be one of the states that lines up for democracy and one person, one vote. That holds for every office from dogcatcher to U.S. senator. Think about it.
