Women’s March reflects diversity in Northern New Mexico
On Jan. 21 over 100 Taoseños gathered at the Plaza in solidarity with the Women’s March in Washington and the millions worldwide who are protesting the election and policies of Donald Trump and the direction he has pledged to take the country.
The gathering, reflecting every segment of our Taos population, also spoke to our hopes for bridges, not walls, and love, not hate. One sign quoted the Pledge of Allegiance “...with liberty and justice for all.”
Hundreds more folks from Taos made their way to the march in Santa Fe taking place at the same time. In spite of the cold and snow there was the kind of great spirit that is generated when we gather as a community to make our voices heard. The response from cars passing by was enthusiastic and supportive. This event was organized by the Green Party of Taos.
